What is the Ketogenic diet ?

The ketogenic diet is a low-carb, high-fat eating regimen that offers numerous similitudes with the Atkins and low-carb consumes less calories.

It includes radically decreasing sugar admission and supplanting it with fat. This decrease in carbs places your body into a metabolic state called ketosis.

At the point when this occurs, your body turns out to be staggeringly effective at consuming fat for vitality. It additionally transforms fat into ketones in the liver, which can supply vitality for the cerebrum.

Ketogenic diets can cause gigantic decreases in glucose and insulin levels. This, alongside the expanded ketones, has various medical advantages.

Summary

The keto diet is a low-carb, high-fat eating regimen. It brings down glucose and insulin levels, and moves the body's digestion away from carbs and towards fat and ketones.

What’s a Keto diet and how we do it?
Simply put, a ketogenic diet is very high in fat, moderate in protein, and very low in carbohydrates. The idea behind keto is to keep your fat-accumulating hormone, insulin, low by keeping your blood sugar low. In doing so, you turn on fat-burning genes while suppressing the abdominal-fat-amassing machinery.

While actual percentages vary a little, traditionally ketogenic diets reduce carbohydrates to less than 50 grams a day. That’s pretty low: Something like an apple and a cup of quinoa would easily clock in at about 50 grams.
Early ketogenic diets were also moderate in protein, making dietary fat the predominant macronutrient. Eating a high-fat diet—we’re talking 70 percent dietary fat or higher—means you aren’t getting sufficient glucose as fuel, and glycogen (your glucose backup tank in your liver) eventually becomes depleted.
That shifts your body’s primary fuel source from glucose to fat-derived ketones. You literally burn fat—either dietary fat or body fat—for fuel on a ketogenic dietWhat’s not to love about that?
Well aware of potential limitations, like keto flu (discussed below) and the compromises you have to make on a restrictive plan, you’re ready to give keto a try. I’ve talked about the wrong way to do it, but how can you intelligently get into ketosis and get all of its benefits, including promoting great gut health?

what to eat for Keto Diet?

1. Eat low-glycemic plant foods.

You can still eat plenty of healthy dietary fats and also include gut-healing foods like leafy and cruciferous greens, prebiotic-rich foods like garlic and dandelion greens, and probiotic rock stars including kimchi and unpasteurized sauerkraut. Even with a daily 50-gram carb allowance, you can find a lot of anti-inflammatory, gut-supporting foods.

2. Optimize electrolytes.

Electrolyte imbalances become a chief culprit with keto flu. Focus on mineral-rich foods, including avocado, nuts, seeds, and leafy greens to get magnesium, potassium, and other minerals. You might also consider a no-sugar-added electrolyte supplement formula. And sprinkle Himalayan sea salt onto your food.
3. Choose the highest-quality animal meats.

Wild-caught fish, grass-fed beef, wild game (like buffalo and elk), free-range organic poultry, and (if you aren’t intolerant) pasture-raised eggs are your best bets for quality fats including anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids.

What is wrong with Keto Diet?

There is nothing wrong with keto. However, it's essentially starving your brain and body of its natural fuel source and forcing your body to use fat as fuel.

It's ideal to have zero carbs and high protein and fat when on keto so you use fat as fuel and don't lose muscle. But most people eat up to 20 grams of carbs because they're told its ok. Which in my mind is bullshit because then your body uses those carbs as fuel which is the opposite of what you want to do in the first place, that's just a low carb diet.

When you eat a real keto diet with zero carbs you enter ketosis which is very stressful for the body. If you're not eating enough fat ie drinking a bottle of olive oil a day, you will become lethargic which will hinder your workouts and make your brain not work as it should cognitively.

Your body also begins to produce and expel acetone which is why your breath will smell like alcohol. This happens to people with diabetes sometimes. But the diet works. It's the only diet that will change your body's natural habits forcing it to do something not natural and pushing it out of its comfort zone changing the way it works.

If you need a diet go on keto, but do it properly. People eat fruit on keto, which is fructose and gets changed to fast-acting sugar in our bodies. This doesn't help. If you wish to do it properly stay away from all carbs altogether you will enter and stay in ketosis within three days. Since your body uses fat for fuel now you will lose the fat you have on your body. Your body uses way more fat then it does carbs so eat enough.

Never restrict calories unless you've tried without doing so for at least a month. Losing muscle on keto is also normal. Some people that do keto lose so much muscle and eat carbs so they aren't in ketosis so they still have that fat. They become skinny fat so doing it properly is number one.

Don't listen to people who tell you things about diets. Experiment on yourself to learn, that's what I did. Once you learn how your body works you can make a judgment call and do what needs to be done. Read studies and find out things that others don't know you will like it better this way.

Everyone has an opinion, listen to them but conduct your own research and put the pieces together yourself. So ultimately the keto diet works and is highly stressful on your body resulting in changes and toxic chemicals to pass through the liver. It can leave you lethargic and you can even pass out.

If you do it properly, chemicals are still released, and you might even not be able to pass a breathalyzer test or the smell of alcohol may make ppl think you've been drinking. So be cautious when you do this. People think it's a game which is why they allow 20 grams of carbs lol or a fad.

No, this diet changes your body and shouldn't be taken lightly. The chemistry behind it and what it does to your brain is not fully known because scientists don't know everything about the brain yet. But I can tell you as someone who does it regularly that there is no harm done to your body when done properly and if you're drinking enough water to get rid of toxic waste.

Try it if you wish to lose weight, you'll be happy with the results, but make sure to introduce carbs again in low doses so you can get back to normal and eat a balanced diet without gaining your weight back.
